Our world-exclusive feature with the director and stars of Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast was lined up before I took over at the helm of Attitude. But I was immediately intrigued to find out why so many gay men have fallen in love with what, on the surface, seems to be a very straight love story. I expected to find an example of gay film fans being drawn towards escapist culture and gay filmmakers escaping problems in their own lives through the creative process.
