Take That get Robbie back for online charity show
Robbie Williams performed with Take That for the first time since the X Factor Final in 2018 as part of a special fund-raising show hosted by Compare The Meerkat on YouTube.
After Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald opened the show with performances of The Greatest Day and Shine, Williams joined them to sing on Back For Good, The Flood, Pray and Never Forget.
In between songs, the group discussed what new skills they’d acquired during lockdown, where Barlow revealed he had taken up the guitar again after 20 years away from the instrument.
Proceeds raised by the performance on May 29 will go to music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins as well as Crew Nation, which supports concert crew workers.
Boy George biopic will go for the edgy option
Boy George’s biopic will be more ‘dangerous’ than recent big screen movies about Queen and Elton John. The film’s co-writer Sacha Gervasi has been encouraged to make a ‘crazy and bold’ film about the Culture Club legend. “George has thrived on his authenticity; the fact that he has been so ruthlessly, almost alarmingly honest,” Gervasi told the Mirror.
