AS THIS ISSUE went to press, Neil Young was leading a crusade to persuade fellow artists to boycott Spotify. His former bandmates stood behind him, and Joni Mitchell, Nils Lofgren and others have followed.
Young had told Spotify: “You can have Rogan or Young. Not both,” referring to the podcaster Joe Rogan, accused of spreading misinformation about covid. David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash all joined Young in removing their music.
