ROB HALFORD has assumed responsibility for the “ridiculous” suggestion that Judas Priest should become a single-guitar band. Fans around the world protested when the group – among the most iconic twin-guitar acts in rock music – announced that Andy Sneap, currently deputising for the Parkinson’s-stricken Glenn Tipton, would resume his career as a producer, leaving Richie Faulkner to take up the slack.
“That [proposal] blew up in my face, didn’t it? ”Priest singer Halford told Billboard. “It would’ve been ridiculous, insane, crazy… It’s kind of water under the bridge now. My heart was in the right place, but I’m not the first musician to have a crazy idea.”
