My Nanny Pearce was an amazing lady. She used to make wonderful toffee apples and honeycomb, and beef stew when we went round on a Friday night. We were always in the kitchen as children when my mum and nan were cooking and always got involved – we peeled the potatoes, stirred the gravy and licked the spoons!
