Amassive 13.4million viewers tuned in last October to watch mum-ofthree Nadiya Hussain waltz off with the Great British Bake Off cake stand, reducing Mary Berry to tears with her winner’s speech.

Honey, we shrunk the baker...

Fast-forward seven months and, as you’d expect from the woman whose mantra is “I can and I will”, Nadiya’s been ruling the world – cramming in more career highlights than most achieve in a lifetime. As well as the obligatory cook book ( Nadiya’s Kitchen shows she’s not just a baker, but an accomplished cook, too), she’s filmed a two-part travel cookery show – brilliantly entitled The Chronicles Of Nadiya – which sees her travelling around Bangladesh, rediscovering her family and food. Then there’s the BAFTA for Best Feature she scooped with the rest of the GBBO team, her foray into women’s fiction (out next year) and that small case of making her Maj’s 90th birthday cake. No biggie, then.

When she turns up at for the heat shoot, the 31 year old’s famous Puss-in-Boots wide eyes are marginally less sparkly (those major life goals cost her sleep), but she’s pretty much as seen on screen: one part dry sense of humour, two parts affability, with a generous portion of positivity thrown in for good measure. In fact, the only thing we can fault her on is that she doesn’t come bearing a delicious showstopper cake for us to sample. But seeing as she’s been a tad busy lately, we’ll let that slide. This time...
