Lucas and Capaldi: dream team
Amazing news klaxon! Fresh from his triumphant Bottom in BBC1’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Matt Lucas is returning to Doctor Who. Matt revealed to heat that – after appearing in last year’s Christmas episode The Husbands Of River Song, as loveable doofus Nardole – the character will return in at least a few episodes of the new series, due to air next year. Matt told us, “I filmed Midsummer on the same set where I did Doctor Who, with the same team, and I’m going to be reunited with them, which is a massive joy.” Matt’s a huge Who fan and once owned a full-size replica of the TARDIS. His next Who appearance will be from episode one of the new season, which starts filming this week.
