If someone wrote a fairytale about a war horse who emerged from every shelling unscathed, they would call that horse Warrior. But a Warrior was genuinely born in 1908, a compact thoroughbred by Straybit out of Cinderella, and so prophetically named. Ridden for most of his thirty three years by his breeder, General Jack Seely, Warrior survived four years of war, finally spearheading a crucial and gruesome cavalry charge to check the German
offensive in Moreuil Wood in 1918.
