Laminitis is a common and debilitating foot condition that affects around 4% of the UK horse and pony population. Usually, owners use visual signs, such as excess body weight or crestiness, to assess the risk of the condition in their horses, but now new research being carried out by the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) is aiming to help identif y high laminitis risks before any physical indicators become apparent.
