As there is quite a lot to get your head around with Family Sharing, we have put together this useful guide containing everything you need to know, such as how to set it up and link your family’s devices together, how to reap all of the benefits, such as sharing apps and iCloud storage space, and how you can protect younger family members from unsuitable content and dreaded in-app purchases.
You have control
There are many good reasons to set up a Family group in iCloud, whether you are a family of two or five. Over time the feature has grown and more importantly, it has become very stable and will work silently in the background.
Build your family
The process for setting up Family Sharing is straightforward, but it will take some time to ensure that each member of the family has the right permissions and access. It is, however, a one-time process and once done every member will be better connected to each other and you can all save money in the long run.
1 The settings
Go to Settings and tap your name at the top of the screen. This will take you to the section where you can manage your iCloud preferences.
2 Invite new members
You can now invite new family members to be a part of your group. Multiple methods to invite them are available so choose what works best for you.
3 Tweak the access
Once everyone is in the group you can tap each name and then choose what they have access to. You can also set up others with parental access.
