WEST HULL – the form team in the top flight, now with nine successive wins behind them – added another important scalp with a 26-14 win at fourth-placed ROCHDALE MAYFIELD.
The Green and Golds, who are only a couple of points adrift of leaders Hunslet ARLFC, completed a double following the 28-20 victory on their own patch, after having established a 12-0 lead midway through the first half with Ryan Wilson’s conversions of tries by Jack Watts and Oscar Ellerington.
Mayfield, who have lost three of their last five fixtures, hit back before the break through Kristian McVeigh and Wayne English, but Elliot Jones nipped over in between, Wilson’s goal securing an 18-8 interval advantage.
