Unless you are a KDE user, chances are you haven’t heard of the Konqueror web browser. It debuted over two decades ago and in addition to its web browsing duties, it doubles up as a file manager as well.
Konqueror is notable for being the first browser to use KDE’s KHTML browser engine, which has been forked by the likes of Apple and Google over the years, and today powers some of the most popular browsers including Chrome, Safari, Vivaldi and more. By default, Konqueror now uses Qt WebEngine, which is a wrapper for the Chromium browser core. Using this engine enables Konqueror to support virtually all of the recent web standards, such as WebRTC, ensuring that it’s compatible with literally every modern website.
