Master Detective  |  Jan-18

Lesley Whittle was just 17 when she was abducted from her Shropshire home by Dennis Neilson, the Black Panther. He was already a notorious criminal, the shot-gun killer of three sub-postmasters when he snatched the teenage heiress in January 1975 as part of a blackmailing plot. By the end of the tragic saga Neilson’s place in the annals of British crime was sealed, his cold-blooded, heartless crimes earning him a whole-life sentence. Read The Horrors Of The Black Panther in this issue for the full story.

From 1970s Britain to 1930s Cleveland, Ohio, for the final part of Scourge Of The Underworld – The Eliot Ness Story. During the Depression era the city’s Kingsbury Run was considered a good place to dump things – then the headless, bloodless corpses started appearing. Could Ness crack the case? Read Cleveland’s Mad Butcher to find out

And that’s not all. This packed issue also features case reports including:

* “FBI Agent: ‘I Killed To Save My Daughter’” – How Irishman Jason Corbett met a bloody end at the hands of his former FBI father-in-law and his wife
* “Dad Killed His Family With A Firebomb”
* “Why I Shot Them To Death” – Disabled Grandmother’s Story Of Murder
Master Detective magazine brings you the world’s best true crime stories – now available in a versatile digital edition you can read anywhere on any device.

Packed full of must-read reports on unspeakable crimes, illustrated with astonishing photos, it’s better than the most thrilling whodunit – because it’s 100% TRUE.

Specialising in real-life stories from the US, the UK and around the world, it brings you the most notorious homicide cases from Victorian times right up to the present. In its pages you might find the latest murder case from the UK courts, a fascinating gangster saga from the 1930s, a French crime of passion from the 1970s and a crazed cannibal killer from the former Soviet Union. All this plus regular features such as European Crime Report, US Executions – The Forgotten Decade, and They Came To Watch The Hanging.

Use this app to try the latest issue or a full year’s subscription (12 issues) and explore the dark world of crime with our expert writers as your guide. We take a lot of care over the way our stories are written – to make them clear, engrossing and above all factually correct. Never less than fascinating, Master Detective might just be the best crime read you can buy.
