Simply thinking about your mind-to-muscle connection, which is the communication pathway that your brain uses to tell your muscle fibres to fire, makes a phenomenal difference to the success of your session, according to new research published in the European Journal Of Sports Science. This found that subjects who did exactly that reported biceps muscle growth of 12.4% after eight weeks of training, compared with just 6.9% in the group that focused simply on finishing the set. The same gains were reported in the quad and hamstring muscles – so start thinking harder to add size faster.
