Some Italeri classics see welcome re-releases with some extras which make them very attractive propositions. Sd.Kfz. 10 Demag D7 with 7.5cm Le. IG 18 and Crew (ref. 6596S) is a reissue of the 1999 tooling of this halftrack. The Sd.Kfz 10 half-track tractor was used by the Germans in large numbers during World II War from the invasion of Poland to North Africa, and Russia. It was developed to be an effective prime mover for small, towed artillery pieces and could carry eight fully equipped soldiers in addition to towing a gun or a trailer. The 4.2-litre Maybach six-cylinder engine , positioned in the front of the vehicle, could delivered 99 hp, allowing it to reach a max speed of 65 km/h and to have a good on road and off-road performance. The 7.5cm light infantry howitzer Le. IG 18 was designed to provide artillery support within infantry companies. The le. IG is a real ‘golden oldie’, tracing its origins back to the 1976 ESCI release, but this is a nice combo and like all Italeri kits will come at a reasonable price.
