OBAN as a University Town (OAUT) will be officially launched at the Corran Halls from 11am to 7pm, on Thursday March 1.
The event will offer local people the chance to help shape the project and be part of growing Oban’s economy, making the town busy all year round and creating more choice for young people.
The OAUT partners – the University of the Highlands and Islands, Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS) UHI, Argyll College UHI and Ballet West, as well as Oban High School, BID4Oban, Argyll and Bute Council, Skills Development Scotland, Lorn and Islands Hospital, and Highlands and Islands Enterprise – will be on hand to discuss what is currently on offer, how things are developing and what is being planned for the next five years.
