OBAN lifeboat was launched on Sunday to go to the aid of a yacht south of Croabh Haven. The RNLI boat was called out by Stornoway Coastguard at 5.35pm to assist a yacht with five people on board after it suffered engine difficulty. Shortly after leaving the berth, the volunteer crew were requested to stand down as the yacht had been taken under tow by another boat in the area. Oban lifeboat returned to station where she was refuelled and made ready again by 6.15pm.
