THE APPRENTICE
Studio portraiture is one of the many core genres we like to cover in The Apprentice, but as social distancing was still in full effect when we wanted to arrange such a shoot, we had to think differently. We got in touch with Natasha J Bella, a Canon pro and model who’s recently started photo shoot sessions over the popular video-conferencing app Zoom. This enables her clients to take control of her tethered Canon EOS 90D camera using Canon EOS Utility 3 to take full control of the settings, focus and shooting - all remotely.
We were eager to see how it all worked and arranged for our reader Yemi, a keen portrait photographer based in Essex, to be our Apprentice for the day and take studio quality shots of Natasha while being over 200 miles away in Leeds. Natasha ran through aspects of modelling, lighting and camera settings - here’s how they got on throughout the day…
