Can you feel the hope in the air? Not only is the sun shining more regularly, but there’s a little light at the end of the long, lockdown tunnel here in the UK. Here at PlantBased HQ, we are starting to think about summer days spent with family and friends that we haven’t been able see properly in over a year.

When I think about fun times spent with the people I love, I always remember the food! Birthday meals, barbecues, picnics – food is at the centre of so many of our celebrations. This month, we have the long Easter weekend to look forward to. More than just an extra two days off work, for many people Easter is a religious festival, but even if you don’t observe it as such, it’s still a great excuse to fill up on some delicious food. We’ve picked out some tasty sweet recipes that are perfect for this Spring festival, as well as some dinner ideas if you are having a celebratory meal. And Easter is synonymous with chocolate, so we’re sharing some of our favourite ideas for making it the star of the show. Think tarts, puddings and cakes, and be prepared to get baking. Turn to page 68 to see what we have in store.

Some of my favourite recipes in this month’s issue can be found in our Sharing Food section, starting on page 86. As soon as I am allowed, I’m planning on reuniting with my friends for a night in and the Family Movie Night Board on page 92!

If you’re lacking dinner inspiration at the moment, check out our Nourishing Bowls recipes; they are such a great way to pack your meals with all the good stuff. And our Breakfast and Brunch recipes include everything from a smoothie and granola to pancakes and shakshuka. Bonus points if you can convince someone to serve you the Portobello Waffles on page 55 as breakfast in bed!

Have a great month, enjoy the sunshine, and I’ll meet you back here, same timenext month.

Great recipes!

There are so many great recipes in PlantBased, for all levels - you don't have to be an amazing chef! Great photography and so much inspiration :) Reviewed 04 October 2018

Great magazine for recipes

This is published by the same people as the Vegan Life magazine and has more of a focus on recipes and cookery. It's good if you want lots of recipes, although personally I prefer Vegan Life which has more of a focus on lifestyle. Reviewed 03 June 2017
