For many of us these days, the internet has become central to our lives, allowing us to keep in touch with friends and family, order a takeaway, book a holiday and listen to
music or television. A growing number of people are also reading Practical Reptile Keeping
in digital form too! So it is not perhaps surprising that would-be owners now seek out their pets using the internet as well, but of course, there are pitfalls for the unwary. That is why the Pet Advertising Advisory Group (PAAG), supported by the government department DEFRA, has now developed minimum standards for websites carrying advertisements for all types of pet.
But what is particularly encouraging about this news is that possibly for the fi rst time ever, here is
a group representing all areas of pet care, ranging from welfare charities to trade associations such
as REPTA, working together to achieve a common goal. It just goes to show that far more can be
