Recently, I bumped into a ‘frenemy’ at a party. ‘So, what’s new?’ she asked, a smirk forming on her perfect coral lips. Panicked, I burbled on for a couple of minutes about how busy I’ve been this year, how I’ve had so much going on, maybe I’ve taken on too many projects. There was a pause before she went for the jugular. ‘Have you actually finished any of them?’ I went red and mumbled something about not having the time. Naturally, I was furious.
I lay awake that night running through all the clever and witty responses I could have used. Until, eventually, I could no longer ignore the obvious. She was absolutely right. Although I have a beautiful vision board pinned to my kitchen wall and not one but two planners filled with habit trackers and strategies, I haven’t really achieved that much yet. And although I am taking action towards my goals, progress feels slow and uncomfortable.
