World of Ships  |  Issue 27
Caledonian MacBrayne operates the largest fleet of roll-on roll-off ferries in the United Kingdom, serving the picturesque islands off the west coast of Scotland, and this detailed book covers all of their ships, with detailed text and outstanding photographs.
Tracing its roots back to the mid-19th century, CalMac was formed in 1973 through the amalgamation of two shipping companies which operated services on the Clyde and also ran to the Hebridean islands. The company’s ships have been a familiar sight for half a century, with their iconic red and black funnels, white superstructures and black hulls.
