TWO WEEKS WITH THE APPLE MAC STUDIO
Porty monster
Apple’s new Mac Studio is stylish, ultra-powerful, slightly noisy – and full of holes. Craig Grannell spends a fortnight plugging in and geeking out…

It feels churlish to complain about the power light on the front of the Mac Studio, but it is silly-bright.
DAY 01
We weren’t convinced when we saw the first photos, but the Mac Studio looks a lot better in person. It’s an extruded Mac Mini and comes across as clean, refined and compact – well, at least for a pro machine.
This is also a Mac that feels like it means business: there’s heft when you pick the thing up; and after years of treating connectivity like gold dust, Apple has peppered the Mac Studio with sockets and ports as if they were going out of fashion, including some mercifully at the front.
