Dungeons& Dragons was a revelation to gaming, creating the modern sense of roleplaying games. In many respects ‘D&D’ and ‘roleplaying games’ are interchangeable to the uninitiated – so monolithic is its popularity. But there has always been a strong sense of players wanting something ‘more’ from their game. Following the first edition of Dungeons & Dragons two players Edward E Simbalist (1943-2005) and Wilf K Backhaus (1946-2009) created Chevalier – later to be published as the first edition of Chivalry & Sorcery. They created the first editions of the game to expand on the way D&D lets us play medieval fantasy.
The new edition, taken forward and improved by Stephen Turner and Andy Staples, has continued that idea. Join us then, as we explore the wildly detailed worlds of Chivalry & Sorcery Fifth Edition.
