Tabletop Gaming  |  November 2018 (#24)

Discover: Lands Unknown: A different adventure lurks inside every single copy of Corey Konieczka’s ambitious survival and exploration game. The designer tells us about the creation of one of the first-ever unique games, and reveals what to expect as we venture out on our personal journey.

Tabletop Gaming Live 2018: We round up the fantastic games, people, talks and more from our first London convention, and announce the first details of next year’s return to Alexandra Palace for fun and games.

Transformers Trading Card Game: Autobots and Decepticons go head-to-head in the competitive card-battler from the makers of Magic: The Gathering. We transform and roll out with tips for getting into the game.

Toys in Games: Dig out those forgotten Lego bricks, Jenga sets and Hot Wheels cars and use them to experience some of the most inventive and entertaining games on the tabletop – that you already own! Plus, try out an exclusive RPG powered by Pop-Up Pirate!

Fowers Games: Designer Tim Fowers and artist Ryan Goldsberry – the talented duo behind Burgle Bros., Paperback and more – chat about their indie attitude to making games and why don’t plan to play by the rules anytime soon.

Sensible Object: After making plastic animals high-tech in Beasts of Balance, the London team is inviting artificial intelligence to the table with its latest game. The studio’s Alex Fleetwood predicts what the future of gaming looks like.

PlayFusion: The creators of Lightseekers and Warhammer: Age of Sigmar – Champions reveal how they’re revolutionising trading card games by encouraging phones at the table.

Relationships in Games: The designers behind romantic roleplaying board game Fog of Love and kinky card game Consentacle discuss how games can bring us closer together in real life.

How We Made Santorini: Dr. Gordon Hamilton takes us inside the 30-year odyssey to creating his abstract tower-building masterpiece.

Fantastic magazine Reviewed June 6, 2016 SUBSCRIBER
There are so few good tabletop gaming magazines being published today, which is strange, considering the resurgence in traditional gaming. Aside from the 3 popular miniature war gaming magazines, there's a serious lack of magazine style content for serious board gamers. So it was with much anticipation that I looked forward to the publication of Tabletop Gaming last year, which promised broad coverage of ALL types of tabletop games (board, card, minis games). It has not disappointed. Besides lavish visuals, the magazine offers dozens of quick-hitting game reviews, combined with some in-depth interviews of companies and game designers, and features on hot games. It's a fun read and highly recommended. I've just re-upped my subscription for another year. Keep up the good work guys!
