The Searcher  |  December 2025
What’s new in this issue?
Exclusively on our cover is a Late Roman coin hoard unearthed by #TeamSearcher’s Gordon Heritage and his group based in Lincolnshire. The hoard totals 86 coins, 84 of which are siliquae minted by emperors Constantius II right through to Honorius – the coins are in amazing condition! Other highlights are a small hoard of Edward I hammered coins unearthed by Stuart and Jennie Chambers, Emma Youell recovers her second gold stater of the year, Chris Beale uncovers an amazing 16th Century silver spoon and Steve Crown discovers a lovely coin of Edward the Confessor. Our technical piece this month is entitled ‘Under the covers’ by Neil Ham and Scott Sibbald is all about the all-important coil and Anni Byard writes about Rally Finds Recording which hopefully encourages more rally organisers to be more responsible in this way. There is of course much more between the cover of this issue.
