In 2012 artist Dana Ellyn took a gamble, leaving the corporate world, and becoming a fulltime painter. This vision and bold character is present in her work, which forces the viewer to question the way society views animals. She describes her work as a combination of social realism and expressionism – though admits a focus on technique during her younger years has given way to infusing more emotion into her paintings.
The artist sat down with Vegan Life to talk about her art background – as well as her lifelong love of animals.
