Recently we’ve seen Elvis, Buddy and the Big ‘O’ all return to posthumous performance with the Royal Philharmonic, and now James Dean is due for reanimation to play a co-starring role in a new movie. Yes, you read right. Filmmakers Anton Ernst and Tati Golykh have secured the rights to use Dean’s iconic image in their upcoming Vietnam war film, Finding Jack. The slightly bizarre casting of a CGI Dean has reportedly been sanctioned by Dean’s family, as Ernst told The Hollywood Reporter: “The family views this as his fourth movie, a movie he never got to make,” he said. “We do not intend to let his fans down.” Dean’s character of ‘Rogan’ will be put together using photos and archive footage to recreate the Hollywood star, while an actor will be cast to provide his voice. “We searched high and low for the perfect character to portray the role of Rogan, which has some complex character arcs, and after months of research, we decided on James Dean,” Ernst continued. Needless to say, the plans have raised eyebrows in Hollywood and in the press. The mind boggles…
