The first female artist to be signed to Wild, Gizzelle started singing aged six. She broke big with her first 45, 2005’s sultry Baby Please Don’t Go, and has since grown to become one of the label’s most successful names thanks to a mind-blowing voice and a superb band. With a sound that draws from 50s blues, R&B and 60s soul, her debut album Devil Or Angel received huge acclaim, as did 2010’s sizzling single I’m A Good Woman, selling out in rapid time. Her second album, Rhythm & Soul, is another must-have for the collection. She’s charmed some big-name fans, too, having performed twice with her hero Ruth Brown and also with Janice Martin. A key figure in the Wild family, Gizzelle has shows booked for the UK this year and returns to Viva Las Vegas in September.
