Thea Lenarduzzi won this year’s Fitzcarraldo Editions, Mahler and LeWitt Studios Essay Prize, for her “family memoir and social history” Dandelions, about four generations of migration between Italy and England. The annual £3,000 prize goes to the best proposal for a book-length essay, by an unpublished UK or Ireland author. She has the opportunity to spend up to three months in residency in Italy working on the book, which Fitzcarraldo will publish.
