HEAVY rain and thick mist added an extra challenge to the South Kintyre Sports Council’s fourth handicap 5km race.

Timekeepers were pleased with the inclement weather, on Tuesday evening of last week, as for once in this year’s five-race series they were not plagued by midges.

First across the line was Violet Campbell.
