A BBC reporter who got his first taste of journalism at the Campbeltown Courier has won a major award in a national ceremony.
Campbeltown man Jamie McIvor, 45, who is BBC Scotland’s education correspondent, won the Media Coverage of the Year award at the last week’s Icon Awards in Glasgow.
The awards recognise those who make every effort in their work to reflect the diversity of the Scottish population, tackle discrimination and do their best to represent people from a wide range of personal backgrounds and communities.
