No votes required in South Kintyre election

VOTERS in Campbeltown will not join the rest of Scotland in going to the polls on May 4.

The election in South Kintyre is uncontested. The ward has three seats on Argyll and Bute Council and only three candidates were nominated: Rory Colville, Donald Kelly and John Armour. In accordance with number 12 of the election rules, the returning officer, Cleland Sneddon, will declare the three to be elected councillors on the morning of May 4.
