Rounding up all the important stuff you need to know about this month
1. Dave Lane’s reprinting An Obsession With Carp
One of the success stories of spring’s initial lockdown was Dave Lane’s Jackanory-esque storytime videos. The popularity of his readings of An Obsession With Carp (stretching to 21 episodes on YouTube) has led Laney to announce the book will be re-printed and re-mastered in full colour. He’s even joined the Patreon online platform to read his second book, A Flick of the Tale, to subscribers. It’s a thoroughly modern way of keeping printed media alive and we love it and we have to agree with one YouTube comment writer who said: “Dave Lane’s COVID tales will go down in history as some of the best content ever produced. Cheers, Dave, in such horrible times your stories have helped get us through.”
