LITTLE BROWN
While 2009’s collection of Brett Anderson’s song lyrics went rather under the radar except among Suede diehards, his ability as an accomplished wordsmith in Coal Black Mornings will be a revelation to many. Documenting Anderson’s early life from growing up in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, to the cusp of Suede’s breakthrough, this 225-page book is, presumably, the first volume in a series, though he does write that he has no interest in penning “the usual coke and gold discs memoir”, so we’ll see.
