WELCOME
If you’re a regular reader of CP, the chances are that you’ll be well aware of Madonna’s muchtrumpeted residency at the London Palladium.
As with almost everything in Madonna World, it’s thrown up all manner of interesting talking points. This is a rare-as-hen’s-teeth chance to see the world’s biggest pop icon at close range – at one point in the show she even walks through the crowd itself.
Yet the eye-watering ticket prices are a very hot topic. If you and your other half fancy checking out the show, then you may have to shell out the best part of a walletemptying £1,000. Similarly controversial is the star’s decision to play only a handful of greatest hits. You have to admire her artistic integrity – it’s a bold move in the circumstances. This is clearly a show aimed at her superfans and the message to fair-weather admirers, as stand-up Stewart Lee would say, is clear: “It’s not for you!”
