DEBBIE HARRY WITH DENNIS MCLAIN
I’m a big Debbie Harry fan and used to follow her around the East Coast of the States – mostly the Philly area. When this photo was taken in 1989 she was appearing at the Chestnut Cabaret. I was 24 at the time. Debbie knew I’d be there as my photographer friend was shooting her show that night. Once Debbie heard that I wanted to meet her, she came out through the crowd, grabbed my hand and took me backstage herself. People were flipping out! We had a nice chat and she told me to take whatever pictures I wanted to but that she had to make it quick. Debbie was really wonderful to me that night – I was the only one taking photos backstage.
