Gary Numan insists his forthcoming second memoir will be the definitive story of his life. The 62-year-old synth legend releases the much-anticipated
(R)evolution
on 22 October in hardback, audio and ebook – 23 years after his first attempt hit book shelves. Numan told
Classic Pop
: “I was originally going to pick up where the last one left off, but my publishing company wanted me to start from scratch.
“It was ghostwritten originally but then I decided I’d rather write it myself. It’s interesting to return to something you have already written about. I realised that I wrote about a lot of boring trivia that didn’t need to be there [first time around] and left out other things that were more important, so it gave me a chance to do things better. And then, of course, there are another 25 years of life that has happened since then. There’s a tremendous amount to add – it’s been a good experience to do it again.”
