Zig Zags are LA street-jammers who mix wizard-sleeve metal with cranium-cracking skate punk. They’re dark and mysterious, and I often wonder whether I’ve hallucinated their entire decade-long career.
Titled after Jim Van Bebber’s one-man wrecking ball of a movie, Deadbeat At Dawn shares a similar scrappy lowbrow/budget DIY vibe. Many of us felt like we reached maximum Zig Zaggery with 2019’s die-hard anthem Punk Fucking Metal, but these boys clearly have some more outlandish rock’n’roll in the tank.
