Combat Aircraft Journal  |  US Army Aviation
The US Army’s aviation branch is one of the largest air arms in the world with more than 3,500 helicopters, fixed wing aircraft, and drones.
US Amy Aviation, a new 116-page guide to America’s flying soldiers, looks at the history of US Army aviation, describing its origins and its famous battles in Vietnam, taking the story through to recent NATO duty in Eastern Europe.
It features the Apache gunship, Chinook heavy lift and Black Hawk utility helicopters, Guardrail fixed wing surveillance aircraft and MQ-1 Grey Eagle drones, as well as smaller UAVs.
The publication also examines the main units of US Army Aviation, reviews their tactics and looks at the force’s future technology.
