Cover feature / ultimate mixing chains

LOLCOMP LITE CM

As much as we love creating chains from scratch, for quicker results, Computer Music’s very own edition of LOLCOMP Lite could be just what you’re after, and it’s free with this month’s issue

>FREE SOFTWARE

LOLCOMP is a mixing chain processor that harnesses some classic processing and then bundles it into a fun and easy to use plugin. It’s the brainchild of the Mixing Night Audio crew (headed up by the renowned Ken Lewis), and it delivers up quick and impressively wideranging results.

Our very own CM version, LOLCOMP Lite CM (VST3, AU, AAX), features the same engine and gamified interface, but just includes two of the main chains (LOL and Dragon) and two of the complementary effects (Levitate and Awaken), as well as 15 presets to get you started. The lively plugin interface features input and output level controls, a global mix blend and plenty of metering, so you can really finesse the effect.

In the following walkthroughs, we’ll show you how to grab and install your plugin, then take you on a tour of its main features looking at how we can use it on various bits of audio.

Meanwhile, if you like LOLCOMP Lite CM and fancy upgrading to the full version, there’s an upgrade link at the top of the plugin. Here you’ll get the lowdown on what benefits the full version brings as well some exclusive upgrade treats.
