1. Getting to know GForce Axxess

The amazingly colourful Axxess synth from GForce Software is a total powerhouse, which can operate in mono or polyphonic mode. To get an idea of its power, trying auditioning some of the presets. You can access this from the patch name bar, at the top of the plugin. Click to reveal the patch menu.

Let’s tour some of Axxess’s cool features, which might inspire you to create your own patches. To initialise a patch, revisit the patch menu, and find the Init Patch button, located on the bottomleft of the plugin window. This will initialise the patch, reducing it to a bare and bright Sawtooth waveform.

Axxess draws inspiration from the vintage ARP Axxe. Some operational elements differ from other subtractive synths, so let’s start with your choice of waveform. In the Audio Mixer section; you’ll see a noise fader, accompanied by saw, square and sub faders. Adjust to create a blend of waveforms.
