Wendy Rowe created a special sampler for her son’s wedding using her cross stitch know-how and was surprised to see it given pride of place on the big day
Wendy Rowe, who lives in Wednesbury, West Midlands, has been cross stitching for 25 years. She was delighted when her wedding gift became an important part of her son’s wedding reception…
“When my son came to us and told us he was planning on getting married in July 2024, Iknew Ihad to stitch awedding picture for them,” recalls Wendy, who was at pains to make her design tailored to the happy couple. “I went through all the charts trying to find one that I thought would be suitable and they would like. It was not an easy task to work out the kind of décor they already have in the house. Idid start one that had bride and groom teddy bears under an arch. As I started to stitch it, something just didn’t feel right, and I didn’t feel it fit the personality of them both. Then Icame across achart of a wedding cake design and the saying Love, Laughter and Happily Ever After. I just knew then it was the right stitching for them and was glad to see when on avisit to the house they had acushion with the same kind of saying on it.”
