Military wife Joanna lives in Central Pennsylvania, and she discovered cross stitching when her husband was away on active service. “I’ve been doing some form of stitching since I was a child,” she explains, “but I really picked up cross stitching in my mid-twenties when my then -fianc é, now-husband, deployed to Afghanistan with the US Navy for a year. While John was gone, I stitched up a storm of projects for friends and family and myself. I was hooked (or stabbed, I guess), and I’ve been stitching regularly for nearly a decade now!”
