work the cross stitch
WHETHER you decide to work a single letter or a whole name, the cross stitch is worked the same way, starting in the centre of the fabric. All the cross stitch is worked in two strands of stranded cotton over two threads of Hardanger. Take care when following the chart and the key as the colours are similar, so it’s important not to get them mixed up. When you have finished all the cross stitch you can add the backstitch detail in one strand of dark brown. Use one strand of dark brown for the French knots on the giraffe.
