Welcome to our Fall issue of Autostrada,
We’ve been fortunate to spend the summer surrounded by our automotive community at our monthly track days and special events. One of our favourite experiences is the upcoming opportunity to participate in the Drive 4 Smiles track day put on by Starlight Canada on September 11th. Starlight works to create new and lasting positive memories by bringing joy and hope to seriously ill children and
their families through their love of cars. We are so grateful to our automotive community for using their vehicles to give back to those who need it most.
Our cover feature for this issue is McKeel Hagerty, CEO of Hagerty Insurance. Hagerty was incorporated in 1984 and began as an insurance provider for antique and wooden boats, but has expanded to automotive events, social clubs, media and much more. Some people may not even know that Hagerty is an insurance company, but Mckeel mentions that is by design and hopes it continues to be the case as they grow into a media and lifestyle brand.
We had the exciting opportunity to do a road trip in the Pesto GT3 down to the Hagerty Learning Garage in Traverse City, Michigan to meet with McKeel and tour his beautiful collection. An exciting portion of our trip was the special opportunity to drive McKeel’s personal 1967 Porsche 911S that he has owned since the age of 13.
As always, this issue would not be possible without our incredibly talented group of contributors, all of their hard work is on display in the thoughtful words and beautiful photographs throughout this issue. We are looking forward to connecting with many of our friends and readers at our remaining events throughout the summer and fall.
