THE ART of manipulation has always sat comfortably in Eddie Hearn’s wheelhouse, but even his silver tongue has failed to convince fans that Uisma Lima – a sturdy but unremarkable super-welterweight – is capable of making even the slightest dent in Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis.
You may have heard interviews where the reporter has uttered something along the lines of, ‘Oi, Ed, this Lima looks a right handful’, almost as if they have been encouraged to join in the cheerleading.
But the reality is that Lima (14-1, 10 KOs) appeared on a sizable list of potential opponents, and just so happened to be the one that accepted the lowest offer.
