Automatically sort your files into relevant PC folders
What you need: FolderFresh Time required: 30 minutes
Keeping your files sorted can be a time-consuming process involving much clicking and dragging. But not if you use FolderFresh. This smart free tool lets you set up a series of watched folders, categories and rules, then takes over the organisational process when you choose a file and drop it on a pre-defined spot. FolderFresh has just been updated and now lets you run it from your system tray, which means you can set it to launch when your PC boots and it will work in the background. Here we explain how to use it.
1 STEP
Visit www.snipca.com/57579, scroll down to the first Assets box and click the link to download the ‘FolderFresh-Setup-3.0.0beta.zip’ file. Extract the contents of the ZIP file and double-click the ‘FolderFresh-Setup-3.0.0beta.exe’ file. Windows will throw up a warning but it’s safe to use so click ‘More info’, followed by ‘Run anyway’ and work through the installation process. When it’s finished, open FolderFresh. If you don’t have .NET runtime installed, Windows will pop up an alert 1 . Click ‘Download it now’ 2 , then click the button on the popup that appears. When it’s downloaded, run the ‘windowsdesktopruntime-9.0.11-win-x64.exe’ file from your Downloads folder and follow the prompts.
