I love old two-strokes and I’vealways lovedthe NSR 250, so when Isaw this oneIjust had to have it. Igot it from abikeimporterinSheppard’sBush for £3,500, but it wasinarightstate –talk aboutrough. It looked likeithad been in atsunami –everything wasseized solid with rust, and youcould barely turn the wheels. The bodywork wasknackered, all the parts were wrongand it looked aright mess.Iset abouttidyingituptomakea fewquid on it, butendedupgetting really intoitand turningitinto aproper little minter. Idecided to putitbacktothe same spec as the SP model with the Rothmans Honda colourschemesoIset about the bodywork, and then got allthe nuts and bolts re-coated, and put it all back together. It’slikeanew bikenow. The motor had only done 3,500 when Iboughtit, but it’s done nearer 5,000 now, and counting. The motorissweet, too –it’sbeen on adyno and is kicking out62bhp, which is pretty strong powerfor oneofthese. As longas Ican keep gettingmyleg over it,I’llkeep ridingit!
