THE TIMELESS ICON
The words ‘iconic’ and ‘immortal’ are sometimes overused in aviation circles, but both most certainly apply to the cover star of the March 2026 edition of FlyPast. The Supermarine Spitfire, represented here by OFMC’s famous Mk.IX MH434, is surely the most famous fighter aircraft ever built.
